There are many acne remedies and products that you can choose from at your local pharmacy. I would like to highlight the top three products that we see advertised on TV. We will discuss what the products are, where you can get them and whom they target as an audience.
CLEAN AND CLEAR®
Clean and Clear® is the first family of products we will discuss. This product can be used by just about everyone but is targeted towards teenagers.
This product line is made up of multiple types of facial cleaners and cleansers to help keep the skin clean and fresh. You can get a regular liquid or a scrub type Clean and Clear® with beads in it that help to slough off the dead skin, and it is the one I use.
The prices range from about $6 for a cleanser to $25 for an acne remedy. You typically can find the Clean and Clear® brand in just about any store that sells cleansers and facial scrubs or you can purchase them online.
NEUTROGENA®
Neutrogena® is another brand that is used by millions of people. This is the product you will see advertised the most on TV. This product line is targeted towards women more so than the other two brands. Neutrogena ® also has the most complete line of products out of the two.
This family of products includes facial scrubs and cleansers, but they also have many types of make-up and anti-aging products too. Neutrogena® can also be found in a local store or bought online. The price varies from $5 for a face wash up to $50 for an anti-wrinkle kit.

PROACTIV®
The newest product out of the three is Proactiv®. This product is a 3-step system made up of a cleanser, toner and a repairing treatment. This is the only brand of the three that is a specific treatment that helps fight acne.
Since this product is used specifically for getting rid of acne it is the best solution out of the three, but it is also the most expensive. The price for the treatment is about $20 for the base treatment, but can go up to $30 if you want the system plus some extra facial cleansers.
This product started as a mail order only product that you would see on infomercials. Today your best bet is to order this product online, but it is slowly finding its way to the store shelves. I have even seen it being sold in a giant vending machine at the mall. This product is targeted towards severe acne sufferers and includes both women and men.
These are the three most advertised clear skin products on the market today. Overall anyone can use these products regardless of which audience they target. I personally have used at least one product in all three brands, but I find that the Clean and Clear® family of products works best for my skin type, whereas my wife prefers the Proactiv® system.
