Prescription Shades Opened My Eyes

I love going jogging at this park behind our apartment complex. While I was jogging I didn’t pay much attention to the trees, birds or squirrels that were all around me because I couldn’t see them.

When we would go for walks my wife would point out things of interest and ask if I could see them. My answer was almost always “no” because I cannot see tiny creatures or details too far away without my glasses.

I wanted to see everything but it was more comfortable to wear shades than to wear my eye glasses out in the sun, so I sacrificed my eyesight to be comfortable. The shades I wore didn’t have prescription lenses so I really didn’t see much. I made up my mind that I was going to get prescription sunglasses next time I had to get new glasses and I did!

Prescription sunglasses only cost about half as much as my new glasses and insurance covered half of that cost. I could’ve gone the clip-on shades route but from my experience they make the glasses heavier and weigh them down, making them uncomfortable and easy to fall off.

The other option was tinted lenses that transition to regular lenses when you are indoors but that made me look goofy and I would get annoyed that I couldn’t see indoors for a little bit until they changed to un-tinted lenses.

These new shades are amazing, they look like shades but when I wear them I can see! Now when I run or take walks with my wife and she asks if I can see the little bird pecking at a tree I can confidently say “yes.”
