When I visit my dentist I see him for about 10 minutes of the total visit but spend the rest of the time in capable hands of the dental assistant. The last 4 years or so I have been going to the dentist regularly and I have always found it interesting that there are so many people working in a dental office.

Dental assistants, hygienists, receptionists, accounting and dentists are some of the jobs that make up this dichotomy of an office. I will tackle some of these jobs in a future post to help us understand the functions of some of the people that make the practice run efficiently.
