Dental Implants Dentures better than Traditional Dentures

Dental implants dentures are one of the most innovative trends in modern dentistry. It eliminates the need for glues, bridges and plates that you would need with traditional dentures. There are no longer any restrictions on what you can eat. Getting dental implants is like growing brand new teeth!

Benefits

Dental implants have numerous benefits. They improve the quality of life of people who have dental problems. No longer do you have to carefully screen your meals for things that might be able to damage your teeth. Dental implants allow you to eat or drink anything you want.

They also give the look, feel and function of real teeth. When you get implants, you are not only getting a better cosmetic look but they also help you physically.

These new denture implants help to preserve your jaw bone. Having the dentures implanted helps other teeth as well. Dental implants aid the alignment of your other teeth, allowing them to be able to last longer.

The Process

Titanium plays an important role in dental implants. This metal is used to create the post that is implanted into the jaw.

Titanium is used because it is light and strong. The titanium post is inserted into the jaw bone. Gradually the bone and tissue grow around it and allow the implants to remain firmly in place. The gum takes between three to six months to heal.

The replacement teeth are then screwed onto the post. The teeth themselves can be made of porcelain or ceramic.

You can decide if you want them to be permanent or removable. Some people choose permanence and treat the new teeth like they would their natural ones. Others prefer the option to unscrew and replace the man-made teeth.

Not everyone can get dental implants. The ideal candidate must have general good health, healthy gums and proper bone density. They must also be able to deal with the anesthesia and surgical insertion.

Care

With proper care and hygiene dental implantation has a ninety-five percent success rate. Ninety percent of the implants last at least 15 years. Most implants last much longer. If you brush and clean them daily and see your dentist once or twice a year, you should have no trouble at all with your implants.

Teeth implants can be costly. But they are so easy to clean and provide such comfort while eating; the cost is a small investment to make. Go to your dentist and demand dental implants!
